  • September 3, 10, 17: “Classic Theatresports” – Two teams competing in classic improv games, songs, or scenes inspired by audience suggestions, scored “old-school” style, with each judge ranking the performance on a particular criterion.
  • September 24: “Micetro” - Competition where improvised scenes are performed by groups, but individuals are singled out for elimination or advancement to next round

Lila Theater: Temenos
Ongoing Monthly:
Temenos is Lila Theatre's Improv Jam that occurs every third Sunday of every month. BATS Improv Performance Schedule
September 2006: BATS Improv presents its September lineup, with a popular audience favorite, a visit from True Fiction Magazine, and 3 debut formats!  Go to www.improv.org for more information, prices and tickets.  Shows include: 

  • Special Guest: True Fiction Magazine; Friday and Saturday, September 8-9; 8:00 p.m.
    TFM takes improvised theatre to new heights each time it performs, pushing the realm of storytelling into unknown territory that titillates the senses and blows the mind.
  • Karaoke – the Musical!; Friday and Saturday, September 15-16; 8:00 p.m.
    Celebrate the 407th birthday of the Bard’s famous Globe Theatre, built in July 1599, and take in a fully-improvised Shakespeare play, BATS-style!
  • The Answer Show; Friday and Saturday, September 22-23; 8:00 p.m.
    Improv will answer the pressing questions of your life.  Your conundrums will inspire our improvisers to create scenes, songs and answers.
  • Improvised Murder Mystery; Friday and Saturday, September 29-30; 8:00 p.m.
    You are cordially invited to solve the Murder at the English Manor. Follow along as the detective uncovers the secrets, clues and motives of suspicious guests. Discover “whodunit” and why in this funny, thrilling and completely improvised tale of murder

Mirth Brokers Showcase

IMPROV CLASSES

Saturday Drop In Improv Class

This Drop-in improv class is at Fort Mason every Saturday from 1-4pm. Fee (per class): $10  It's a really fun class and a very welcoming group. It's not clique-y. Newcomers are always welcome. If you come to class, you have to participate. Sorry, no voyeurs! The class is made up of comics, actors, improvisers, and just generally people who like to play. The laugh quotient is high! All ages welcome. This class was taught by Jim Cranna for 25 yrs, and his student of 17 years, Grace Sargent, took over when Jim stepped down last year. The School of Improv
The San Francisco Comedy College is excited to be offering the School of Improv! By blending SPF 7's trademark emphasis on storytelling and strong scene work with the essentials of comedic theory and performance technique, The School of Improv classes offer a unique perspective on improv for performers at all levels that you won’t find anywhere else.

The School of Improv includes four different five week classes, three monthly workshops, free admission to all Comedy College shows, and stage time at our weekly showcase Make 'Em Ups to apply what you've learned alongside fellow students and Bay Area improv veterans in front of an audience!  For more information go to http://spf7.org/classes.html 

EAST BAY IMpRoV Classes
Our workshops are an easy, laugh-out-loud way to become more self-confident, creative and spontaneous.  All experience levels are welcome, from zero to hero.  Our expert instructors/performers tailor their feedback to your level of experience.  Each 4-week session is different.
